Counting text characters

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have a form that holds 5 fields: Activity, Hazards, Class Risk, Control Measure, Class Risk2.

There will be 5 to 10 lines of each.

Each field sits next to the other and is the same height (approx 250 px high) much the same as if they were in a portal.

I have included a snapshot of this in browse and print preview.

What I am trying to acheive is making the finished height of each field the same as the Control Measures field as this

will hold the most information, thus the most characters.

I thought I would acheive it thusly....

Count the text characters in field ContolMeasures, count the text characters in Activity,

Calculation would be CountTextofControlMeasures-CountTextofActivity

Then use the answer to the calculation to add blank spaces back into the Activity field.

OR COUNT THE LINES AND ADD THE BLANK LINES??????

1. Is this possible and if so how would I acheive it?

2. Is there a better way?

I have tried to do this in a portal but cannot obtain the result I need.

The end result I am trying to acheive is to have all fields the same height so that when the sliding up kicks in

all fields will have the same boundaries therefore will look like they are sitting inside a table (much the same

as a Word table).

Any help would be appreciated.

Milton.
