I have a database for my music library in my band room. I also want to be able to list concerts and for each concert which songs were played.

In that database I have a table for pieces in the music library, another table for concerts and another table for the selected concert's list of pieces.

When I click on a concert right now it pulls up a list of related concert pieces in a portal beside the list of concerts. In that portal I have a field set up to display a value list from which I can select a piece of music from the library - the value list shows the Title only (but it is also based on the ID of the record for that piece of music) everything is working just fine UNTIL

I have a several pieces of music with the exact same title that have different arrangers - ie Jingle Bells - one arranged by Sweeney and one arranged by Smith. Right now when I click on the value list field and the list of pieces drop down.... I can only see one Jingle Bells - I need to see BOTH Jingle Bells PLUS be able to see who arranged each one so I can pick the correct version.

I can actually see both Jingle Bells IF I sort the value list by ID number instead of piece title. I really need to be able to sort the value list by song title though - it's WAY easier to drop down the value list and simply type in the title of the piece - I really don't want to go look up the ID of the piece first! Plus - like I said I still can not figure out how to show the arranger as well.

In the songs table, create a calculation field that concatenates the song name and arranger, and display this as the second field in the value list.

Beautiful! Thank you! I tried doing this same idea but I tried setting it up some place else and it wasn't working.
