Hi guys, how are you all?

I've been working with filemaker pro for several years now, and i'm currently on version 11. I should really know this by now, but how do I go about de duping an excel sheet to put on filemaker?

Basically, I have an excel sheet of about 2000 contacts, with name, job title, company, email ect, and I want to import it into filemaker, but I know that a lot of the contacts will already be on

my filemaker database. How can I seperate the contacts I already have, so when I import the file I don't end up with dupicates on filemaker?

Many thanks,

Chris

There is no magic for this. You could import into a temporary table, build a relationship from that table to your Contacts table using a concatenated key that'll let you flag the contacts that are possible dupes. However, eyes on is really the only way to identify a duplicate.
