Newbies crisp24 Posted June 8, 2011 Newbies Posted June 8, 2011 Hi guys, how are you all? I've been working with filemaker pro for several years now, and i'm currently on version 11. I should really know this by now, but how do I go about de duping an excel sheet to put on filemaker? Basically, I have an excel sheet of about 2000 contacts, with name, job title, company, email ect, and I want to import it into filemaker, but I know that a lot of the contacts will already be on my filemaker database. How can I seperate the contacts I already have, so when I import the file I don't end up with dupicates on filemaker? Many thanks, Chris
bcooney Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 There is no magic for this. You could import into a temporary table, build a relationship from that table to your Contacts table using a concatenated key that'll let you flag the contacts that are possible dupes. However, eyes on is really the only way to identify a duplicate.
