Is there a way to decrease the picture quality or size when filling a container with a picture taken from the phone? The current pics are by average 1.3 Mb which is a lot for the database. Or do you have any trick to reduce the size?

I haven't found anything inside filemaker Go that will work. I used Photogene (I think that is what it is called). It is fast and updates your library.

For my customers, I made a calc. field that used the Length function to display the size. That way they know to keep the size down a bit.

The less manipulation from the end user the happier they are...

I think I'll try something out with a server side script.

The pictures are contained in a separated files. There is a field which stores the source of it (Eg : Go for iphone 1.x). A script on the server could export the fields and I'll run a command line app to reduce the size of the photos.
