Lookup Between Layouts & Tables

So I have been on a crash course with FM and have finally hit a bump in the road I'm unable to solve.

Scenario:

I have two tables with an ID field and relationships are established.

What I would like is that when the fax button is clicked which opens another layout to the fax table i would like the ID to be carried over from the record that was being viewed in the other layout and table.

What I currently have been doing is running a script that is in a drop down list to populate the ID and person’s name, meaning I have to select from the drop down and then the info is carried over. I'm looking to automate this with the above statement. Attached is a link to the file if I wasn't to clear.

Pretty much go to the individual's record and click fax and the drop down list is there. :)

Thanks

Use either a script parameter or a script variable.

Use either a script parameter or a script variable.

Is there a certain one that you would recommend? I'm trying to keep this easy as possible.

I'm not very fluent in FM scripting.

Thanks,

Is there a certain one that you would recommend?

No. And you should get familiar with both in any case.

No. And you should get familiar with both in any case.

Know of any examples that would pertain to what I'm trying to accomplish?
