the 'beep' script step doesn't work for me. it's something i haven't used in a while, so i'm not sure if it has ever worked in my v10 copy, but at least it doesn't beep now. all my other alerts, system beeps, and other audio plays fine, so i don't think it has to do with the general audio setup. any ideas?

Works for me, as long as 1) the speaker volume is loud enough to hear; and 2) the default system sound is obvious.

for what it's worth... it works now without me having done anything in particular at all (except waiting long enough, perhaps).

i hate these things!
