iamtechman Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 A few years back when FileMaker 10 first came out, I recall many saying that it wasn't quite ready for developers to use as a runtime for their clients. I am a very small developer (only one solution with 35 clients) and I am considering upgrading from FileMaker 9. I develop on the Mac for clients that use the runtime in Windows. What version (10 or 11) would offer the least amount of headaches in converting my solution? Thanks for any guidance that you guys can provide, Carey

Where did you hear this and why wasn't it considered ready? Perhaps you are recalling FM11's initial issues with the C++ libraries required for Windows? What version (10 or 11) would offer the least amount of headaches in converting my solution? I don't foresee any "conversion" issues FM9>FM11. It's a simple File Open. Why not download the FM11 demo and try it. As for making runtimes for Windows users, for Win7 you'll need the latest FM11A.
