Newbies Tobin Posted October 8, 2001 Newbies Posted October 8, 2001 Is there any way to get around the 110 inch layout limit? Using more than one layout will not work I don't think. I have approx 550 records to print, and it must be done in one print run (Am using the digital copier to double side, fold and staple). Thanks.
Newbies kurt mitenbuler Posted October 12, 2001 Newbies Posted October 12, 2001 Nope; it's limited to 110" (actually, I thought it was 111". It sucks, but that is it.
DykstrL Posted October 12, 2001 Posted October 12, 2001 The only thing you can do is change to a Landscape orientation - it still has a 111" limit, but gives you a little more real estate to work with.
BobWeaver Posted October 12, 2001 Posted October 12, 2001 Can you explain why your layout needs to be so big? Did you mean 550 fields rather than 550 records?
Newbies Tobin Posted October 28, 2001 Author Newbies Posted October 28, 2001 dykstrl - Thanks, but it's already in Landscape. BobWeaver - Actually it's about a total of 1200 fields, located in several tables. The reason why I want it so big, is I want a 20 A4 page report (and it would have to be portrait). It's currently 20xA5 pages (printed on landscape A4) to make a booklet, but it would be much easier if I could let the photocopier reduce everything for me, so it could do all the folding/stapling in one run, rather than having to put all the paper back through again.
BobWeaver Posted October 28, 2001 Posted October 28, 2001 This may or may not help. You can try setting the scale in your page setup to greater than 100%. For example, the Apple Laserwriter driver allows up to 400%. If you set it to that, then Filemake will still think it's working on a 110" layout even though it prints out 440 inches. To compensate, you have to scale everything down on your Filemaker layout by the corresponding amount. Eg, use 3 point fonts instead of 12 point etc.
