Newbies bretetaylor Posted December 28, 2001 Newbies Posted December 28, 2001 Greetings, I am working on a database solutiuon designed to store and ease report production for a local law enforcement agency. When printing out "the case report", one of the fields is a narritave that can either be one paragraph or in some cases, pages in length. While a scroll bar works well for inputting, I am having difficulty finding a way to have FileMaker compensate for the potential field length differences on the hardcopy printout. Any ideas?
danjacoby Posted December 28, 2001 Posted December 28, 2001 A couple of possibilities come to mind. The simplest may be to have a separate print layout that contains a merge field. Make the layout really, really long, and have the merge field fill that layout. The use the "sliding" feature to minimize the printout to the actual text.
Newbies bretetaylor Posted December 29, 2001 Author Newbies Posted December 29, 2001 I believe that under the circumstances that this will work nicely... Thank you for your help! -Bret
