Hi All,

I am developing a POS solution in FileMaker. The POS solution is also accessed in iPad using FileMaker Go. I want to integrate a credit card swiper with Filemaker Go solution using iPad.

Does anyone have experience on integrating a credit card swiper with Filemaker Go solution using iPad for processing credit card transactions?

Is there any web API available to integrate bluetooth credit card swiper in a php website opened in an iPad or any web API which can return the card data to the web application (i.e a web form) as soon as the credit card is swiped? If so, then we can create a small php web page that will do a call to the API and get the card data as output from the api. This php web page can be opened using a web viewer within the FileMaker Go solution.

Any idea/experience on this please reply me on this post.

Thanks in adv.

FileMaker Go falls short in it's ability to return the results of an API.  Since credit transactions must be secured, the HTTPS protocol must be used for

communication with the API.  While I was able to get it working perfectly with HTTP, there so far has been no workaround for HTTPS.  Doing the API

exchange via the FileMaker app uses the import script step via xml and works absolutely great, however the Go limitation of only allowing importing

from another FileMaker file also limits the ability to use this method via Go.  So far the only way we have figured out how to do this is to allow the

capture of credit card info via go and a swiper, and have a 'bot' running on a machine running the FileMaker app that processes the transactions

as they come in.

It's almost possible, but not quite using Go only.
