How do I reset the portal when entering a new record?

Basic stuff, but I'm a newbie. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a portal (Line Items) on my layout (Order Form). I'd like the portal to clear (not delete, but reset to empty) when I enter a new record, so each new order form starts fresh.

Can you help?
