Newbies veramilo Posted October 13, 2011 Newbies Posted October 13, 2011 I'm working on a solution for registrations and roll call for a small art school I'm associated with. I have a layout displaying records from my STUDENT table. There are two portals on this layout: In the CLASS_ENROLLED portal, I have a popup value list with the names of all the courses in the CLASS_DETAILS table. Here the user selects the courses the student is enrolling in. In the SESSIONS portal, each row represents a session (specific date and time) of every course the student has enrolled in for the current month. Each session (row) has a similar value list to the above mentioned, but it only contains the course(s) that the student whose record is displayed has enrolled in as selected from the popup described in the previous paragraph ("include only related values..." checked in options for this value list). We use this to specify which enrolled course each session is assigned to. When I have my relationship graph set up as illustrated in the first attachment (works.jpg), the value list in the SESSIONS portal displays exactly what I want. But when I hook in additional TOs that I need for other parts of my solution (see notWork.jpg), I get a <Value List Missing> error. I don't change anything else -- I just hook new TOs into the graph. Can anyone help me understand how to add other TOs without breaking the value lists -- and vice versa? I've been trying to get this part to work for over a week now. Thank you in advance for any help! UPDATE: It appears I was wrong about the first graph working. It seems there's a weird situation (bug maybe?) where if I make the slightest change to the graph, the value list displays the items I intended, but when I switch to another record, it stops working again. I'm using FMP 11 Advanced and my solution is set up in the Separation Model (I think that's what it's called -- first time I used it).

doughemi Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Zip a copy of your files with dummy data and post the .zip file.
Newbies veramilo Posted October 21, 2011 Author Newbies Posted October 21, 2011 I got tied up with something else but I will pull something together the next chance I get. Thanks!
