Rich S Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I'm not sure if there is such an animal, but is there a calculation (or maybe custom function) that will tell you which fields are being sorted and their order (ascending/descending)? I know there's the Get (SortState) command which will tell you what the current sort state is, but beyond that...don't know. This kind of calc would be handy for fields sorted while in Form view since you can't tell at a glance--as you can in List view--the sort order of a field (or fields); you either have to press Command/Control S or click forward or back a record or two to see a trend. Thanks...and a salute to our veterans, past and present, on this Veterans Day. Thank you all! Ciao, Rich
LaRetta Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Hi Rich, As far as I know, there is no calculation or custom function which will provide this information. Usually it is handled via script by setting global variables with the User selection, which means availability to sort dialog (by User) must be prohibited. The actual sorts would then need to be scripted individually and the sort script would then branch according to user selection. It can become very complicated if the sort involves more than one field. FM really lacks in developer-support on sorting functionality.
