Newbies Capt Tom Posted November 21, 2011 Newbies Posted November 21, 2011 I have a 1985-1989 Filemaker file on a diskette (720k) and am not sure if it was a Mac or MS operating system. It has a list of all the 8mm home family movies of the 1940's and 1950's. I no longer have a drive, nor the original computer or copy of FM. Does anyone know how I could get a print-out of this information as we are having the 8mm film copied to DVD and having the description data would greatly help. Thank you, Tom Stapleton
Vaughan Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 If forum-errs cannot help, try a data recovery shop, or an archive or museum. (I did some work for the ABC TV/Radio Archives and the old equipment they have to keep up and running is unbelievable.)
Aussie John Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Yes a problem. Even files just a few years old can be impossible to open on a modern computer. for example Lion OS and Power PC files
