I have just migrated from my SuperContainer installation from an old Mac Mini 10.5.8 (non-server) to a FileMaker Server Advanced 10.6 Server on 10.6 (Server).

I originally ran the installer.jar and now I am getting the restart server in 15 seconds message when launching the standalone, is this normal?

I have read that there is the standalone or the installer.jar approach, thing is, I am getting errors when playing back my media files when the standalone isn't active. Is there something wrong with the installation? Should I just undo whatever the installer.jar did and run the standalone only? Is there instructions on how to do this?

I am using port 8020 as there is another service monopolizing the port 80.

Thanks,

d

Hey D,

The Installer.jar file will install SuperContainer on FileMaker Server. If run, there is no longer the need to run the SuperContainerServer.jar (standalone) version of SuperContainer as it is already running on port 80 -- hence the "restart in 15 seconds" message. After deploying SuperContainer for use with FMS, you would now access SuperContainer with the following URL:

whereas with the standalone it would look something like:

If your desire is to use the standalone deployment, but run it on port 80 instead of 8020, you can utilize some of Apache's proxy directives to listen to traffic on port 8020. You can visit our SuperContainer product support wiki page to learn more about how to achieve this.

As for your media not playing back successfully... Are you certain your URLs are correctly formed for use within a FileMaker Server deployment (i.e "http://hostname/Supe...les/pathTo/file")? Make sure you're no longer trying to access the file under port 8020, since that port is not being used by SC when deployed with FMS.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any additional questions or need clarification on this issue, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at the e-mail address or phone number listed below.

Regards,
