Newbies Jim Posted October 22, 2000 Newbies Posted October 22, 2000 I want to make a connection from Dreamweaver UltraDev to FM5. Macromedia says that there is no mac only solution. There must be a way. Any ideas?
Newbies silly_me Posted April 15, 2001 Newbies Posted April 15, 2001 It took me a while to figure this out, but what i tried to do was to set up JSP in UD to work with FMP. in the ODCB setup control panel, i created a new ODCB 3.11 FMP PPC connection containing just the datasource name. (i used CV2) Then in configured a simple javaserver using Tomcat, which you can get from the sun.com website. In UltraDev, under Modify>Connection, i chose the Sun-JDBC-ODBC connection an. Under 'connection' i filled in "CV2" and replaced "[odbc dsn]" in the URL with "CV2" aswell. Next up was configuring UD for Tomcat, which was easy after i figured out how to set up the java server. This seemed to work perfectly for me, both locally and over the internet i was able to retieve information from FMP, while connection to my own little server.
LuckyMe Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 Hi, I just start using Ultra Dev for month, so far I like it very much. But I have hard time to connect it to FMP. How do you like it? Is it fast enough? I am using Windows XP Professional Edition, I try to setup such that I can serve my own pages from my PC at home. I wonder if you can, please tell step-by-steps how to 1. Setup a server to serve my webpages. I know I need IIS, but how it works?? 2. Setup Ultra Dev to connect to FMP5.5. Do I need to have FMP unlimited version? What the difference between standard and unlimited version? Do you know any thing about Lasso? What diff between Ultra Dev and Lasso? I know I am asking too much, if you don't have time, please tell where do I find these answers online or any where else Thank your time
