Auto size a field according to amount of text

Hi

Is it possible to get Filemaker to auto adjust the field size in a portal according to the amount of text that it contains.

This portal contains the entries on an invoice page I am creating and the description of the work can be one line or ten lines long. I can manually adjust the field to show all the text but then it is the same for all the other entries and I have empty spaces on my page.

Maybe Im going about it the wrong way and shouldnt be using a portal in this situation.

I would appreciate any help with this as I have spent two days wrestling the script to get all the info into the portal, only to be stuck at the final hurdle.

Thanks

No. Portal row heights are not dynamic. However, when you design your Invoice print layout, design it from the context of the Invoice Line Items (which should be the table you have used for the portal). Each line item is a record, and the body part can be resized dependent on content using FM's sliding feature.

See this article, specifically "Special Case 2: Portals"
