I have a Mac user reporting the following error message with my runtime app, whenever they try to insert an image into a container field. They are running OS 8.6, the message reads:

"Error 2804 in the initialization of CLARIS XTND"

Any help would be appreciated. [email protected]

Did they install FMP from a program CD?

This was a "runtime" version of FileMaker installed on their Mac, from a CD. Apparently, the XTND Power Enabler Extension is either non-existent on their system (OS 8.6) or corrupted. Any other thoughts you may have on this matter would be appreciated.

It's also possible that whoever created the runtime version didn't have the correct "Claris XTND System" properly installed on their computer -- check with whoever created this; it sounds to me like they're the culprit.

I'm running on an iMac with OS8.6. My "Claris XTND System" is in a "Claris" folder in my System Folder.

That would be me! The runtime was created separately on Windows and Mac machines. If there is something I missed in the process of making the Mac runtime (include Claris XTND Power Enabler), I guess I need to learn how to do this. I was just under the impression this was part of the Mac OS (later than version 8.6). Any insight would be appreciated.

So the question remains, how was Filemaker originally loaded on to the Mac? If it wasn't properly installed from a program CD, you're screwed.
