We currently have a selection of Filemaker Pro applications used by a small community of users within our organisation. These application all use the one single database server. Given their success we are looking at the possibility of rolling these out over the next few years to up to approximately 10,000 users: of which 25% will have significant reporting and workflow requirements; and the remainder will be more data collection and can possibly be web based.

Our main concern is knowing whether there are any issues with regards to scaling to this size and if there are any similar sites out there who have implemented something similar in size.

My suggestion is to uses SQL with that kind of projected activity.
