MacOS 9.2??

Featured Replies

Anyone running 9.2 with FMP 5 yet?

Any problems? How about plug-ins (specifically SMTPit, and POP3it)

For what it's worth, I'm running a "test" machine that I use for development, a G4 with MacOS 9.2.1 and FMP 5.0v3. Not unlimited or server, just plain old Pro. It more-or-less permanently hosts the FM5 databases while I check my mail with Messenger, write documentation with Office 98 and even modify older databases with FMP4.0v3.

Is it stable? Sure, at least as good as 9.0.4. The only crashes I've had cannot be blamed on FMP5.

I've been running FM 4, 5, 5.5 and Developer 5 on Mac OS 9.2.1 with no glitches whatsoever. 9.2.1 seems rock solid. I have had problems with only one solution: Analyzer 2 from Waves in Motion has been extremely problematical, but I have never had great luck with it anyway. You may need to upgrade extensions to FileMaker, however. I grabbed New Millenium's new vesion of Dialog Magic, and it not only performs very well under 9.2, as well as adding more great features. NMC knows how to build its products well. Bottom line from my point of view is that Apple has it right with 9.2.1. Go for it.

agree with the previous.using OS 9.2 and fmp 5.5, no problems, no crashes. The web companion works really well, though not with Airporter distributed IPs...and that is not a FMP issue.
