chico
I am currently running FMPro5 Server Mac. on OS9 (Server). 3 Local Terminals (Mac OS 8.6) 1 Local Terminal (W98. We Have 2 Clients which connect to D.Bases Via Remote access(Mac). My Problem is that From home I am running W98 and running FMPro 5(W98) and I cannot log on to the host. I am using PCMaclan 7.2 and I can see shared files on Mac server but when I try to access databases I get nothing. I am able to log on to server using dial-up with server IP Address set at 192.168.0.1 (SNM)255.255.255.0.. All terminals are set sequentially with the exception of Mac Client used to check e-mail, which is connecting via Apple talk. When I attemt to access host from home (W98) I show not files. Vaughan
My only suggestion is to make sure that the server and all client machines are connecting using TCP/IP networking in FMP. Not AppleTalk: PCs don't understand AppleTalk. You mention that one client is using Appletalk...
Arin
Make sure that port 591 is open. That's the primary port that FM uses. also check port 2399. -A
