I'm relatively new to Filemaker and was hoping some of you might be able to help with this. I have a database with a list of issues, with fields for severity, appendix # & appendix descriptions, among others. (the idea is that multiple issues would be grouped into appendix 1, 2, 3, etc.). I'm trying to create a summary report that would list Appendix #s & Descriptions sorted by severity (and look much like a list in a word doc- having issues getting to that with the report layout). The additional challenge is I would need to remove the duplicate records, so we only see one Apppendix I, not 5 of them. Any help would be much appreciated.

Look into subsummary reports. You can group by appendix and severity, although I am not sure which way you are trying to group them by.
