Databases are Read-Only on SBS4.5 Server

I am new to Filemaker so excuse me if this is a dumb question. At our church we have moved a FM database from a users workstation to a SBS4.5 (NT4.0) server so that it will get backed up to tape each night. The problem is that as long as the data resides on the server and is openned from a workstation, it will only open as a read-only database. If I move it back to the workstation it opens just fine.

The database was placed in a folder on the server that is shared with full rights to the users that need to access the data.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot open database on client; it is already opened on server. You must connect to the server via button HOST in client.
