Mail Merge - Mac OSX Lion + FileMaker Pro 12 Adv

WTF - This has to be a wind up for Mac users of FileMaker Pro 12!

Pages (iLife 11) does not support mail merge from data sources other than Address Book or a Numbers document - that rules out direct use of FileMaker even with ODBC.

Word for Mac 2011(v14.1) mail merge does not recognise the .fmp12 extension and doesn't offer an ODBC option.

No doubt I'll get the dumb ass of the week award but even so I'd appreciate some divine enlightenment as to how FileMaker Pro 12 can be used as a direct datasource for mail merging on Mac OSX Lion i.e. no export, additional conversion or other middleware data fudging workflow process.

Maybe there's an alternative to Pages or Word for Mac that supports data merging using .fmp12?

Maybe I should hop back over to a Windows machine - I assume I could get MS Office 2010 to work via ODBC in minutes but what about native support for .fmp12?

All thoughts much appreciated :)

That's one reason have done it all in FMP. http://fmforums.com/forum/files/file/5-multipage-letter/
