Newbies ssillett Posted November 16, 2001 Newbies Posted November 16, 2001 I am hosting a set of databases via FileMaker 5 on a Win2000 box. The databases are set up to share via TCP/IP. Sharing works great when I log into the computer with my Admin password. However, this server is also used as a workstation by technicians in my lab, and they log in with their own non-Admin passwords. When the technicians are logged in, the FileMaker databases do not appear to other clients on our network. I set Win2000 security permissions for the database directory to "full control" for all users, but this did not solve the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks, Scott Sillett
DykstrL Posted November 19, 2001 Posted November 19, 2001 Using a FM Server box also as a workstation is a definite NO NO! Use a dedicated machine.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted November 23, 2001 Posted November 23, 2001 What version of Windows 2000 are you using? Under what permissions level was the FM Server installed? Also, the server CPU should not be used as a workstation. Old Advance Man
