April 3, 200124 yr I know this is probably not the right list but I have a query. I can access my filemaker database over the internal network via tcp/ip address of 192.168.0.1. I can access my database over the internet by putting in ip.ip.ip.ip:8080 . But put in the specify hosts box ip.ip.ip.ip for my permanant external dial up ip address and nothing happens. I have checked all the relevant boxes. Multi user etc. I am running Windows 2000 server, with filemaker unlimited running web companion on port 8080, I am also running microsoft exchange server on the same machine. I can ping the external ip address and see it through a browser just not through specify hosts. Any one have any ideas. SImon Pennington
April 3, 200124 yr Hello Simon, You will need to open port 5003 on your firewall TCP only. After this you should be able to see your database from outside using the hosts dialog. Just make sure your database is password protected. Martin
