FileMaker Novice, Importing From One FileMaker File to Another

I have an existing FileMaker .fp7 database file with existing records. I would like to create records in a new, identical .fp7 file and import them to the existing file such that new records are created in the existing file. Fields in the existing and new database files are identical.

Is this doable? Any tips would be appreciated.
