Newbies Brian1973 Posted July 14, 2000 Newbies Posted July 14, 2000 We host FM on a PC and we have clients that use MACS and PC's to access the database. However, on one of the MACS when I hit hosts (so I can enter in the TCP/IP address of the host) It tells me the file for TCP/IP networking cannot be found. What can I do to solve this problem? Thanks
steveusa Posted July 14, 2000 Posted July 14, 2000 Try rever it. host from mac see it work or ping Mac's IP address for dos-command see you get reply if not you have netword issue here.
Newbies Brian1973 Posted July 15, 2000 Author Newbies Posted July 15, 2000 I can ping the mac from the pc(host) Its just when I hits the hosts button on the MAC an error message pops up telling me it can't find the TCP/IP file for networking in Filemaker Pro
yafreax Posted July 15, 2000 Posted July 15, 2000 the same thing was happening to me when i first put FM5 on one machine. i couldn't figure it out, but after i opened a FM5 file that i pulled off another computer through the network, it worked fine. just make sure the file you are pulling uses the TCP/IP and has it enabled. I don't know if my situation was just a fluke, but I guess its worth a shot.
