Matt Malyschko Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I generate a pdf with appropriate hyperlinks that work fine on Windows in Adobe Reader. However, when I try this on Mac with Preview the links do not work. I've done some research and this seems to be a known issue, but I am wondering how people deal with this?
qube99 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 The known problem is with PDFs generated in Word and opened on a Mac with Preview. The only known solutions are to re-save it in another text editor or relink it with Acrobat. A similar problem arises in Excel text fields that contain HTML. Microsoft munges it and the extra characters have to be stripped out when imported into FMP. I have no idea if FMP can change character encoding in a field or not. If so, then changing it to UTF-8 should fix the problem. Maybe the pros will illuminate us on this issue. Being able to enforce character encoding in FMP would be very useful for cross-platform work.
