I may have posted this into the wrong board but can someone move it if that's the case.

 

We automatically email our customers with a PDF. We want to be able to track when the PDF is opened.

 

Do you know how to add a simple URL link into a layout?

not sure this is what your after - but I have built a system that we don't email the actual pdf.

 

Instead we email them a LINK to the PDF that is hosted on the server ( using Super Container ) when the email is generated I create a record in a table - and create a PIN number that we send along with the EMAIL the users are instructed to click the link and enter the PIN number this

operates a simple PHP script on the server and writes to the FMP file downloads. We also have an expiration data that will prevent download after

a date.

 

There are other services out there that can track this better such as http://www.sharefile.com
