Newbies Ron38 Posted November 29, 2012 Newbies Posted November 29, 2012 I had developed an external data source for all my data. Worked fine. Took application over to a MacBook and tried all sorts of things, something finally worked and application ran fine. Closed, re-opened...files missing (all). Could not re-connect EDS. Cam home and tried the same thing...could not reconnect once I had erased the EDS and then re-eatablished it. (Trying to replicate problem. Now I can't connect via EDS nor can I import tables into my file containing Layouts. Any tips appreciated! Ron
Ocean West Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 I assume you are referring to ESS (External SQL Sources?) via ODBC Or are you referring to a External FileMaker Source? If it's ESS did you install the System DNS on the local computer via the ODBC manager? - On Windows it's part of the OS on Mac you need to have the drivers installed http://www.actualtech.com
Newbies Ron38 Posted November 30, 2012 Author Newbies Posted November 30, 2012 No I am not using ODBC: this is simply a separate Filemaker DB holding only data - it is in the same directory as the file containing the layouts.
