Is csv file best choice to get outside data, I am having Import prob

Hi.. 

I have not imported a excel made CSV file before

I have done so xls   but this  comma delimited file only imports to new files

 

For test 

 I have a new blank layout on screen  using FM file call it  Workfile

 I open the layout

 Next I Import  as normal..   telling importer  csv, and locating the csv file in a folder

 

HOWEVER   my Workfile is grey out!!!!!

 by default it keeps imports to new file 2,3,4,5,   etc...
