PHP calls to Scribe plugin on FMS 10

Featured Replies

I have the Scribe plugin working successfully with FileMaker Server 10 as a server side script but now I need to call it using PHP.

I stopped the server and moved the plugin to the Web Publishing/publishing-engine/wpc/Extensions folder and then restarted.

I have a script which sets a field in a table with one record to the Scribe version, but when i call it from PHP all I am getting is a "?".

Any suggestions welcome and thanks in advance.

Does the Scribe plugin need to be in both the Server and the WebPublishing location for PHP calls to work?

I restarted the server box and now WebPublishing will not start, don't know if it is related...

Ken, I think you may be installing the plugin in the incorrect folder. You only need to install it in web publishing for PHP calls to work; however the correct path for wpe plugins is as follows:

     Web Publishing/publishing-engine/wpc/Plugins

FileMaker Server does NOT automatically create this folder for you on installation, but it does create the Extensions folder, seemingly just to confuse us!

Try putting the plugins in this folder, then restart the web publishing engine. Sometimes the web publishing engine gives me trouble when I'm trying to restart it. Usually you can circumvent issues restarting it by clicking the 'edit server deployment' link and just redeploying the entire shebang. If all else fails, restarting the machine again should take care of it.

Hope this works for you, Ken!
