Hi,

 

I would like to have FilemakerGo run a script on the same file but different device.

 

Reason,,,, because I can't install a barcode font on the iPad, and need to print documents with Barcodes, and since I need the user to remain mobile and use his/her iPad (which is running from a shared file on a desktop PC)

 

Tried using OpenURL, but that just runs the script on the iPad.

 

Any help?

You would have to have a script running on the desktop that would search for unprinted barcodes and print.

@mr_vodka, thanks for the quick response, but wouldn't a continues running script on the PC cause the system to eventually hang especially if a there are 4 or 5 users connected?

 

This would be a workable solution if I didn't need the bar codes to print immediately and just have them print every 2 or 3 minutes in batches  But the print script needs to run as soon as the print button on the iPad is pressed. 

 

I might be asking too much......but I have always been surprised at simple solutions that do such a trick.
