Applying Conditional Formatting across mutiple fields?

Featured Replies

I frequently will apply Conditional Formatting to a field and later decide that I want to apply the same settings to additional fields on my layout. In the past I have had success by selecting the field with conditional formatting and then subsequently selecting the additional fields that I want to clone the settings to. After I have the fields selected I simply open the Conditional Formatting dialog window and my settings for the field that I selected first shows up. Next, I simply close the Conditional Formatting window and the settings get applied to all of the objects that I had selected.

I thought that the order in which I selected the fields determined which field's setting would be applied to the group. But today I am trying to do the same thing that I have done many times in the past and regardless of the order in which I select them I cannot get my desired field to be treated as the master.

Perhaps the behavior has changed with a recent update? It's been a few months since I tried this and for the life of me I cannot get this work anymore. Can someone please shed some light on how to get this to work again?

It is not the order in which you select the fields but the order of the fields in the layout.

Set the field that you want to copy the conditional formatting to be the frontmost.

It will then work as expected.

Yes, that works! Thank you very much for your solution.
