duplicate a series of records?

Featured Replies

I have a weekly report with lots of records based on individuals work flow. I want a script to copy the first 9 records for the next week so key information is repeated. I am looking for the simple action to make this all happen but it looks like I might need more of a calculation?

Looking for some help!

Thanks in advance,

-Morning Man

One easy solution is to export the records you want to copy to a holding file. Then reimport them and update any fields accordingly. After importing, the duplicate records will form the found set which makes updating only those records fairly easy.

This is exactly the way to do it. Basically just export to a temp Filemaker file, them immediatly import those records again, making sure to change any ID fields.
