FTPeek performance on Windows vs Mac

I just noticed that a downloads with FTPeek seem to be significantly faster on Windows than on the Mac - even though I'm testing this while running Windows 7 under Parallels on the same Mac I use for testing.

 

In one of my tests, downloading 50 files took 2:37 on Windows and 4:56 on the Mac.

The same downloads done using Insert from URL took 4:44 on Windows and 5:05 on the Mac.

I consistently got very similar numbers in multiple tests with different sets of files to download (all from the same FTP serve though).

 

Has anybody else noticed this/does someone have an explanation?
