Newbies PeterB Posted August 16, 2001 Newbies Share Posted August 16, 2001 I found a method for doing just this at layoutmode.com. In FileMaker you make a transparent graphic the same size and shape of your button. Center this over your old button and assign the button function to the new graphic. Now only the shape of the transparent graphic is highlighted on button click. For a better explanation go to; http://www.layoutmode.com/techniques/irrbutton.html Good luck, Peter
trusttom
I would like to employ a tabbed look to switch between layouts. While my tabs are trapezoidal, when I assign a button task to them the highlight that flashes when they are pressed is rectangular and doesn't look very good. Is there a way to turn off the highlight or to make it conform to irregularly shaped objects. Regards, Tom
h2o
A other way is to draw all the objects (buttons, icons, tabs...) with the FileMaker drawing tools. Take a look at my web site, on pages "buttons" and "MacOS X look" to see how to do.
