Hiding "Layout" and other stuff

Featured Replies

Hi there

I was wondering.. How/where would I disable/hide options that you would not want users to gain access to? Like the ability to edit the layout, delete all records menuitem etc. Plus, is there a way to hide the "record browser" interface on the left of each window. For example, this is not needed in my Preferences database.

There is a plugin called SecureFM from New Millenium Software that will allow you to selectively remove items off any menu as well as remove all the menus. Its very easy to use. www.newmillenium.com

The url above just sends me to a Disney website!!!

In scriptmaker check out the various script steps under the windows heading, particularly the Toggle Window step. This will allow you to hide the record browser. You can limit a user's access to various layouts and fields by setting up the passwords and access priviliges.
