Export field content, Automatically open file not working.

FM12 - Windows XP/7. I have a script that exports a container field (that has a pdf) to the temporary folder and have it marked to "Automatically open file". The file has been created in the temporary folder but it doesn't open.

 

Is that a problem that can be solved within Filemaker, or is that something that has to be defined on the computer (selecting which program opens which filetypes)? In case of the later, any suggestions to workaround it within Filemaker?

Did you add a ".pdf" file extension to the calculated file name?

Yes. It even opens fine on other computers using windows 7 and XP. That's what makes me believe it has something to do with the specific computers and not Filemaker.

Odd stuff. Have you tried exporting to the Documents path and see if that resolves it? Just as a test.

 

In addition, could it be you do not have a compatible program to open the file?
