Syncing a layout with fields from other tables

Hi there

I'm finding that when I need to Sync a layout including fields from other tables, the Sync invariably fails.

My solution so far has been to create a Calculated field inside that native table that looks up to the other table in order to find the value.

Is this issue one that is commonly encountered?

Hi Oli - MirrorSync does not sync related items on a layout. It shouldn't fail though, it should simply ignore those related fields. If you want to try it again and then submit a bug report (by clicking 'report a problem' on the MirrorSync launch page), that will send me the log and I can troubleshoot.

It should work OK to create a calculation field and sync that, although obviously we can't write back to a calculation field. You'll need the most recent version of MirrorSync (2.204) for this feature; prior versions did not support calc fields.
