Hi.

I have a roster with a number of individuals in it, and I want the user [of the solution] to be able to select a colour for that rostered individual. I am working on the basis (which may be wrong) of choosing the colour from a wheel (or more simply, a block of 50 colors whose RGB values are known), having the colour then stored against the [rostered] individual as an RGB value in their record, and then wherever their name appears in the roster, that field is conditionally formatted.

Ideally, so the colour doesn't wash out the name, the transparency to be set as well - but thats asking too much I imagine. :)

I have been looking at Conditional Formatting (which I just love!), but cannot see where I can apply it via formula by using the RGB value stored for that individual.

As the rostered individuals will change over time, I cannot use a fixed list in CF.

Anybody got any ideas that may bring this to life please?

Thanks in advance.
