How to expand on product selection dropdown choice?

I want to expand or possibly change, the use of the dropdown in the estimates screen to be able to choose products by using the product description rather than the product ID.

 

Any hints to help me understand how this is working in the first place, and how I may add this functionality?

Hi Ken....

 

So... I am assuming your using an older version of FMSP.   The new ones have a new super duper...amazing... product picker tool... that we borrowed from Nicholas at FileMaker.  LOL.

 

Serious... Starting at version 4.1... or 4.2... we have a much better invoice picker tool.  Check it out.  If at all possible... I would steal the code for that... but its pretty propeller head.
