I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to obtain the path to a referenced image file in a container field. Basically, I have a customer who has multiple people entering data and some are storing references to image files and some are importing the image into FileMaker. It would be nice to be able to somehow tell whether you are dealing with a reference or the actual image on a record.

Have a look at Techinfo article 104454 at www.filemaker.com.

It's an AppleScript - so only suitable for Mac.

Thanks, but though I am a Mac user, 99% of my customers are Windows users.

Although the script might have worked for FM 3, I cn't get it to work for FM 4 or FM 5 databases. Does anyone know of an update?
