Hi,

I have a question concerning Separate File Format and extended privileges, hosted on a FM Server.

Where should I put the account information and the privileges? In the script file or the database file?

When the user installs a new version of the script file, I don't want him to have to redefine all the extended privileges.

Any solutions?

Thanks!

Yes, what Barbara said.  That's why External Server Authentication is there.  it takes the Accounts--but not the Privileges--out of the files and puts them on the Server or on a Domain Controller (AD or OD). Then, in the files, you have the Groups that are attached to the Privileges and that match the Groups on the Server where the Accounts reside.

If you have questions about EA, post them in the External Authentication forum, and we will try to answer them.
