HazMatt Posted May 20, 2002 Posted May 20, 2002 I'm interested in a network label printer that I can print labels to from any computer on the network via a FileMaker layout, which would include custom graphics, fonts, etc. I believe a Dymo LabelWriter 330 and a HP JetDirect 175X USB printserver would be the ticket. I would just like to know how the Dymo appears over the network on Mac and PC systems; like, does it show up as a regular Desktop Printer in Mac OS 9, with similar Page Setup properties as a LaserJet? How many FileMaker users have used Dymo printers successfully?
JerrySalem Posted May 20, 2002 Posted May 20, 2002 I have a client that uses one of these devices with only minor disruptions. They use FM over a Mac network. The only real problem is that the Dynamo uses it's own print driver. So when they want to print using the dynamo, you have to go to the chooser and change it, then change back when done. I can't find any way to change the chooser from within FM. That part I would enjoy a solution to But as to your questions, yes it shows up as a Desktop Printer with SIMILAR page setup properties.
BobWeaver Posted May 20, 2002 Posted May 20, 2002 If it shows up as a desktop printer then you can use one of the methods mentioned in the following post: http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB8&Number=1458&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=all&fpart=
