Hello,

I am trying to get filemaker pro 13/14 to store bar code scanners. However for some reason fiemaker is not recognising the scanner. I am on a windows platform and can see the scanner under devices. I wrote a simple script - see below and have seperately used the onobjectsave and onlayoutkeystroke script triggers but neither has made any response. The scanner does beep when the barcode is being scanned but nothing is happening within Filemaker. any suggestions ? thanks

it may depend on the prefix/suffix that the barcode reader adds to the barcode - or in some cases the barcode itself may have some starting / ending character. 

Most barcode readers that are setup properly should input the scan result in any text editor. - try doing that see what results you get.

Thanks - i found the problem - the scanner had not been sychronised with the base unit properly. Once I did this, everything worked smoothly.
