Populate value list based on previous field entry

I cannot find the right article related to this so if i use the wrong terminology I apologise.

i have a list of circuit breakers with fields for their model number, type. Amp, max test value.

in a test sheet form I want to select the breaker "model number" from a value list, then the popup list in "type" to be populated from the related fields in the "model number". Then the "amp" popup field from the summary of both "model number" and "type" to eventually automaticly display the "max test result" associated with all these factors.

I am experiencing trouble finding references to this type of thing but I may be searching in the wrong place. Even if I could get pointed in the right direction would be much appriciated.
