Mark Site Read Doesn't work

I have tried using the "Mark Site Read" feature.

It doesn't seem to work.

Immediately after clicking OK, the result for "Unread Content" shows as empty. OK.

However, when I come back to the site, there is the same list of unread content (plus more recent items) as I saw before I performed "Mark Site Read".
