Newbies Dommi29 Posted April 4, 2016 Newbies Posted April 4, 2016 Hello, I am beginner with filemaker and I got a database from a collegue. In the database we create reports and the report number serves as the link to the different tables. The report number is a consecutive number. Now I have the problem, that I created the reports not in a chronological manner because I did not have all data available and thought I could adjust the report number afterwards. But when I change the number all fields are set on blank again as they are linked to other tables over the Report number. Is it somehow possible to rescue the database or do I have to start over again in the right chronological order? Thank you
webko Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I would create a new ReportNumber field that is not used in any relationships, and then populate that in the correct order. You may need to edit the layout(s) to display this new field rather than the old one.
